Tokyo Motorcycle Show 2025: A Photographer’s Guide & Gallery
In March 2025, the air at Tokyo Big Sight was electric with the buzz of thousands of motorcycle lovers, and I was right there in the thick of it. It was my first time going to the Tokyo Motorcycle Show and it did not disappoint. It’s one thing to see bikes online, but it’s another to see the incredible detail on these machines up close.
My mission was simple: hunt down the most impressive, innovative, and just plain cool bikes on the floor. I wove through the crowds, camera in hand, capturing everything from the big-name reveals to the mind-bending custom work tucked away in the smaller booths.

What to see at the 2025 Tokyo Motorcycle Show
Here are my favorites from the day. Make sure you look for the aggressive Streetfighter from Honda, a gorgeous Ninja from Kawasaki that everyone was talking about, and a geisha on wheels that looked like she rode straight out of an action movie.
Which bike was your favorite?
After you’ve looked through the photos, let me know in the comments: which one of these bikes would you most want to take for a spin?
Experience the atmosphere at Tokyo Big Sight
Even if you aren’t a ‘gearhead,’ the atmosphere is worth the trip. The scale of Tokyo Big Sight is massive, and the major manufacturers like Honda and Yamaha create entire ‘worlds’ within their booths. It feels less like a trade show and more like a high-tech festival. There are also smaller booths featuring incredible custom paint jobs that look more like art pieces than vehicles.
Tokyo Big Sight is a big place and the exhibition halls will be packed. Don’t forget the outside areas. Check the official website for interactive displays, bike riding displays and food options. If you aren’t a Japanese speaker, use Google to translate for you.
Photography tips for Tokyo Motorcycle Show
Managing the crowds
Tokyo Motorcycle is a major event and it draws big crowds. You’ve got to be patient. Wait for gaps to get clear shots and keep your cool if someone steps in front of you.
Mastering the undoor lighting at Tokyo Big Sight
Tripods aren’t welcome so leave them at home. Flashes are allowed so if you have one take it. If you don’t, bump up your ISO and shoot wide open, but keep an eye on your depth of field.
Events like the Tokyo Motorcycle Show often have mixed lighting. You might have harsh overhead spotlights in one booth and glowing LED displays nearby. This can cause ‘blown out’ highlights on the chrome parts of the bikes. To combat this, underexposing by a stop and bringing back the shadows in Lightroom helped preserve the details of the paintwork.

Is the Tokyo Motorcycle Show worth the trip?
Whether you are a die-hard biker or just a photographer looking for some unique subjects, the Tokyo Motorcycle Show is a fantastic way to spend a day at Tokyo Big Sight. The blend of high-tech engineering and Japanese “Kustom” culture provides endless opportunities for great shots.
Here is a tip for the future. If you can find a way to get in on the business/press day, do it! The extra space and lack of crowds make a huge difference for photography. If you’re going on public days, get there early, be patient, and don’t forget to check out the food stalls outside.
