Stepping off Shibuya’s streets, you’re hit with an aroma that instantly transports you to a classic New York pizzeria. This is Pizza Slice, and it’s not just a restaurant; it’s an authentic slice of the Big Apple in the heart of Tokyo.

The restaurant has earned a stellar reputation for its authentic New York-style pizza, a claim I believe. While I haven’t pounded the pavements of NYC, this restaurant had the real deal. The crust was thin, crunchy on the bottom, and soft in the middle, just how I like it. The tomato sauce was slightly sweet, and the cheese was stringy. A generous amount of toppings covered everything.
Industrial cool and Ninja Turtles
The restaurant is spacious and the staff are friendly. Small tables for couples and long wooden tables for groups fill the floor space. The interior looked slightly industrial, especially with its high ceiling. The music hits the right spot, and there is a well-stocked bar. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hide in a corner looking for pizza. And when you leave, remember to dump all your rubbish in the bins.
The verdict: A must-try lunch deal
Weekday lunchtime is great value. And that is for a good reason. For ¥1,000, you get a cheese slice and you can choose one more. You also get a soft drink from their menu.

Is Pizza Slice worth your money?
Lunchtime is always busy at Pizza Slice. The food is awesome and great value. Its clientele comes from all ages. They range from high school kids to business people. Everyone goes there.
